Our Mexico place

Since Dad and Mom were asking where our honeymoon place was in Puerto Vallarta I figured that I would drop the link to it quick (the link has a map about halfway down). Fun pictures from the trip guys, I'd love to get back there sometime. At the rate the Huff / Moore / Larsen / Fuller families are growing we could probably rent out the entire Majahuitas resort in just a few years from now for another reunion :-).

P.S. If you look at the "see more pictures section" the image majahuitas12.jpg shows the cabin that Liz and I stayed in.

Nuevo Vallarta

You probably don't need to see 8 pictures of whales' tails, but they say that each one is distinctive, and I've included the evidence in the linked album. I got a little carried away with my camera again, but I can't resist. Actually, the bike trip pics (and a few others) were taken with a $5 disposable, which was a good call -- I could barely get myself to the top of some of the hills we biked, and I was sure glad I wasn't packin' a serious camera. You may have heard how the mountain biking bruised Mom's bum (right cheek only), and I included evidence in the photo of her tail; you might not notice it if I didn't call it to your attention because the bruises blend so well with her polka-dot bikini.

our little jelly bean

I realize it looks just like the one Ian and Liz put up, hmm...a year or so ago now. But here's our little embryo at the moment (well, exactly 1 week ago). In real life you could see its tiny heart beating really fast, but in the picture there's not much to see yet!

Bao - ow!

Laura sure is saying Bao a lot these days!!

We really did love 'Once', here's a song I recorded tonight - you get the idea.

Falling Slowly, originally by Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova

It and some other things have been put up at my website too. In case the embedded audio doesn't work...LINK

life in Chicago

We've heard it's cold here, but we solved that by not going outside today! We had a fun homemade "Indian buffet" with friends last night, and we were out shopping the rest of the day, so today we're staying in. This afternoon we've been making pork bao - I love bao, but the only other time we made them they didn't rise very well. These ones look fantastic, despite having to overcome some oddities in the recipe (5 cups of water to 2 cups of flour to make dough? 2 hours to double the dough?), and I can't wait to eat them in just a few minutes.

We had some virtual money to spend at our local game store from the last game auction where we got rid of extra stuff, so yesterday we went out there and picked up $156 worth of minis for $6. Yay! One of the ones I got is a chick riding a wolf, which is my current D&D character, so Jon's putting it together for me for our next game in a few weeks.

Just wanted to throw a few movie recommendations out there. We just watched Stardust, which I remember Ian and Liz recommending, and we really enjoyed it as well. Such a fun, well-made, and simple movie. We also just saw Once and think you all should watch it as well, especially those of you who play guitar! It's got a nice homemade non-Hollywood feel to it, and the acting and singing are really enjoyable. Jon's been playing the songs since they've been in our heads.

Hope you all are doing well (those on vacation in Mexico and those not).

Molly pic and a bounty

Awww, look at Molly, isn't she sooooo cute with her little giraffe Alto? But you know what would make her really happy? Her own little knitted Sackboy from the upcoming game Little Big Planet (Check LBP create trailer under "what we're excited about")! Yeah this probably takes mad knitting skillz, but hopefully someone ends up putting a pattern online.

As a reward Molly will bestow a bounty of love and affection on whoever can make her a little knitted Sackboy!

Que?

Something is odd with the blog?

I was wondering why the post that Laura claims has a link to Jon's webpage doesn't actually have one. So I checked into the post history and it seems that Jon's first post about googlepages isn't showing up on the frontpage for me. For some reason I only see the "Extra Stuff" post. So I was finally able to figure out what ya'll were talking about. Also the comments that I thought that I had made on the extra stuff post seem to show up on the first google pages post when I look at the history. Not quite sure what is going on here.

Cool page Jon. BTW, I'll have to pull down your Hallelujah and add in the electric guitar parts. I had them all down as of some time ago and I'll have to see if I can still remember them.
