Here's the spring crop of photos, plus a few pix of the TV console I built.

a few project pics

My two new projects:

The first is the maternity dress I finished this weekend. I also bought a black/white/yellow swirly print fabric that I will use to make a similar style dress. It's a cross-front dress, which was pretty simple, but the pattern pieces looked all crazy before it went together. And the new machine worked great on the stretch fabric!

Then, I finally finished the pacifier holder I was making for my friend Laura. But I already sent her gift, so I may just keep it. We'll see! Liz will recognize it from the Itty-Bity Nursery book...

So Guess Who Is Teething!

Yeah, it's Molly who is teething, not Liz or I. I actually took a picture of her when she was all sad, but to be honest it's so heartbreaking that I couldn't bring myself to post it on the blog. So instead here is a cute picture of Ian and Molly showing off their blue eyes. Plus we've not had a video in a while so I uploaded a few more to show off.

Laura's belly...also, what she's putting in it!

Here, this is a bit more of a belly! At 17 weeks, I feel like I got twice as big in about 4 days. So now everyone at work thinks my belly's really cute...

I got out of having to work today, although most of the shop does. But I do have lots of editing to do all weekend (I have three manuscripts at the moment), so I'll be busy. We also need to choose more places for our next house-hunting excursion!

Also, here's our current favorite breakfast (in fact, we're eating it right now):

Four-Grain Flapjacks (from Joy of Cooking)

combine dry:
1 cup whole-wheat flour
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup cornmeal (I like a little more)
1/4 cup oats (I like a little more)
2 T sugar
1 t salt
2 t baking powder
1/2 t baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional, but I like)
pinch of nutmeg

Whisk wet in a smaller bowl:
1 3/4 cups milk
4 T butter, melted (you can use less, although they don't stick to the pan at all so you don't add any extra at that end!)
1/4 cup honey
3 large eggs

Pour wet over dry and mix just until combined. Griddle 'em. Also good with cut-up bananas and, if you're feeling really decadent, butterscotch chips.

Signs--

Well, it looks like I've managed to grab the elusive 100th post.

Laura told me (several weeks ago) that she went into a Post Office and their automatic postage machine was broken--but, wouldn't you know it, the workers refused to put up a sign. I mused on this a little last night as I passed a sign that read "Suburbs - Exit Only".

What she didn't know was that sometimes a sign is the LEAST helpful thing of all.

Crazy Signs

In the midst of all our house hunting, a little humor for you!

And more a slide-show you can send around work.

New Pics!

Hey guys!

So we've finally uploaded some of the Molly pics. We have some goofy spoofs coming up soon once we have time to play w/ paint.net (intrigued aren't you?). ;)

We also have a few videos to upload soon but I think I hear my baby waking up so I will cut this short. She's such a happy baby. I love going to pick her up from a nap. She just wakes up & chats to herself until I show up. Then she throws out her arms, kicks out her feet & gives me a happy squeal b/c she's so glad to see her Mommy (and did I mention the huge toothless grin?). I'm off to play w/ my adorable baby! (yes yes I know I have the best life ... jealous aren't you?)

Obsessions come home to roost!

Okay, so I had some fabulous Lad Nar (also known as Lard Nar - among other things) perhaps less than two months ago as I had lunch with a service vendor.

It was AMAZING! Since, I've spent a fairly considerable time thinking about that experience and hoping to recreate it. I've had it out since (past Saturday - also yum), and made it in (super not good yuck). I've googled my heart out trying to find some inside info on this.

It's part of the whole pan-asian lock-down. Does anyone make Fried Rice, General Tsao's chicken, etc, like they do at a Chinese take-out? I sure don't. Well, today I googled Lad Nar recipe again and met a very different result. I actually SAW someone making this dish. Hopefully now I'll be able to break into the inner sanctum of this delicious entree.

Let's see if I can embed this video here--

Becoming a Blogger :)

Hey guys!

So I decided to start my own blog to help me stay in better touch w/ my friends. People kept asking for pics of Molly & it seemed weird to direct them to our family website since they don't know you all. Anyways if you want to check it out here is the address:

April-o

A couple late wintery pictures - from March, I think! And my belly - that's from last week. I actually think it's a lot bigger this week (week 15 now) but I can't take pictures all the time! Still wearing most of my pants, some with rubber bands on the button, though. I can fit some skirts, but I wore one to work the other day that was comfy until after I ate lunch, and then I could barely sit down. Ugh...

Springtime hugs and kisses to everyone!
